The Many Hats of Geoff Willis

The most common question I'm asked, other than, "May I see your license and registration?" and "Are you on any prescription medication?" is "What do you do when you're not in class?"  Part of the time, I'm getting ready for class.  Hopefully this is apparent by how smoothly class runs most of the time.   Another portion of my time is devoted to research, which can be reviewed by following this link, or the link from my main page.

You probably were unaware of this, but in addition to my outside duties as a UCO professor I also  write Excel macros to make SPC charts, was on an episode of 3rd Rock, make wine, am a gifted Cadillac mechanic, provide aerodynamic specialist advice to the Williams-Mechachrome Formula I team, sing with the Fleet Choral Society of  Hampshire England, am on the mainframe forum, am a wizard with radio controlled models, sing songs about Route 66 compose the theme music for the Smilestones, crank and jam on my axe, and many other exciting things.  I am a practicing attorney in California, a prolific author, and am also the CEO of Hydro (photos on this site are pre-hair weave).  I also compete in table tennis competitions.   Evidence of my involvement in these activities is documented in these links, but you may have to search for my name using the Ctrl-F command.

I also enjoy (to varying degrees) these activities...

My cycling career may be over...

I'm a proud poultry farmer.  You can be too!

I'm in the midst of an overhaul of a 1974 Eldorado.

I love a good joke, but my only subscription is to Joke A Day, which offers a subscription at the right price (free).  Tell Ray I sent you and he'll give you a 50% discount.

I'm a sports nut, esp. college football and basketball, so I've included a link to ESPN's Sports Zone.

I purchased a fixer-upper house in southeast Edmond.  It's not in disrepair, but there are a number of things I initially said I'd adjust, add, and tweak, a fact that my X once constantly nagged me about.  Her voice wasn't as loud as most of the other demons in my head and it is surprising how consistently she and my neighbor's dogs agreed with each other.   I've found that a hat fashioned out of aluminum foil works wonders for blocking my neighbor's dogs' transmissions, but on those days when I'm out of foil, I just have to endure it.

I'm an alum of Texas Tech University and Vanderbilt University. Certainly among the finest eight years (combined, not each) of my life. I'm the past president of the Washington State Texas Tech Ex-Students' Association.

I found money I didn't know I had about nine years ago at this site. It's took me a year to put together the appropriate documentation, but I'm happy to report I received a check from the State of Oklahoma for a whopping $97.35 that was my electricity deposit at the first swinging bachelor pad I had when I got my first job.  For quite a while the site continued to show that I'm  owed some money ( the same entry that I've already received).   I tried to get the same money again but the state demurred.

Here's a shot of the new and improved Willis clan circa January 2004. For more information about any family member, just click on them. We have a more recent picture that I have yet to post. Some of us are hairier, others are grayer.
