UNIVERSITY GUIDELINES
Students must:
1. have successfully completed designated
prerequisites, including prerequisite GPA's (consistent with
graduation requirements), prior to beginning the internship.
2. be in good academic standing (not
on academic probation or suspension).
3. enroll and pay all fees.
4. not have an internship for credit
with their current employer.
5. not be granted internship credit
retroactively, e.g., for experience already completed.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum qualifications required of
graduate students to serve a credit-bearing internship are:
Must have completed the core course
in the discipline in which the internship will be served;
Should have completed Business Research
Methods (BCOM 5303) and Management Science (ISOM 5533) OR
have completed Leading in a Globally-Competitive Environment
(BADM 5005) and Human Capital Management (BADM 5115);
May not be on any type of probation
- including academic probation, conditional probation or probationary
admission;
May not have received more than 2 hours
of graduate credit in previous internship experience;
International students who do not have
a work permit issued by the Federal Government may only participate
in internships that offer credit;
In the new MBA program, when hours
are credited for an internship, these hours go beyond the
current credit hours required by the program and cannot be
in lieu of existing requirements; and
Additional qualifications that may
be required by the credit-granting Department.

Internships assist the student in solidifying
or modifying career goals and in developing a realistic approach
to the job market and becoming familiar with various types
of employers.
Students receive a quality education
that provides opportunities for personal growth and development.
STUDENT'S ROLE
Students are expected to approach internships
in a professional manner and be productive in their efforts.
Students are expected to act as good-will
ambassadors for the University in their involvement with the
business community.
Graduate students will work 75 hours
for each hour of college credit.
