Dept.
Mission & Vision
The Department of Information Systems
and Operations Management (ISOM) at the University of Central
Oklahoma offers two majors leading to a Bachelor Degree in
Business Administration (BBA). The two majors are:
1. Management Information Systems (MIS)
2. Operations Management and Analysis (OMA)
The department also serves the MBA
program by teaching courses in these two disciplines. The
department focuses on the undergraduate program; it does not
offer an area of concentration in the MBA program.
The Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) Department
offers courses to meet the growing demand for graduates with
the ability to impact the performance of organizations through
the proper analysis of operations and application of information.
ISOM courses also provide graduates with a strong business
background and quantitative analytical skills.
To be admitted to the Information and
Operations Management program, a student needs to apply first
for admission to the University of Central Oklahoma. Once
admitted to the University, a student can declare an MIS major
(Code 2100) or an OMA major (Code 2101). There are no additional
requirements for admission to the Department.
