Prof. Johnson
was for six years the director of the UCO Center for
Urban Economic and Business Analysis.
He served five years as
chair of the Economics Department and one year as dean of the College of Business
Administration. Before joining the UCO faculty, he taught at Oklahoma City
University and the University of Oklahoma, where he was also Senior
Economist in the Center for Economic and Management Research.
Prior to that, he was an Air Surveillance Officer in an AWACS aircrew
based at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City.
Prof. Johnson
is the
author of various cost-benefit and economic impact studies of Oklahoma
and Oklahoma City economic affairs and public policy.
For five years he was President of the Oklahoma City Economic
Roundtable. He earned his
Ph.D. in economic geography at the University of Chicago and also holds an M.S. in
computer science from Michigan State University, an M.T.S. in religion
from Harvard University, and an A.B. in history from the University of
Michigan.
